Christmas

It's here! Its the season! Get a moving, time is wasting. There are Christmas trees to decorate, presents to buy, cards to write, and the list goes on and on! 
The Thanksgiving decorations are stowed for another year and the boxes of Christmas decorations seem to come from every possible storage area just waiting 
                                      to be displayed.

As with so many holidays, Christmas at our house has its traditions too. One of the highlights seems to be decorating gingerbread houses. What began with two families had now grown to include our children's spouses and grandchildren. Everyone brings candy and their secret blueprints to decorate their special prefab house.  When they are finished they are dusted with powdered sugar snow and pictures are taken.

When the holidays gets you just a little too frazzled don't forget to take a step back and take  moments all in, the good ones and the not so good ones.  From the smiles on the littlest of faces, frosting all over the counters, too many parts leftover from assembling the bike, and who is coming to visit?

Trace Adkins song says it perfectly. "You're gonna miss this / you're gonna want this back / you're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast."
